jollenl.com is a website created by Dr. Jolle Kirpensteijn. It contains art made by a veterinary surgeon who has a passion for abstract and colors. My mission is twofold, to brighten your life and to make meaningful art for people that love colors and abstract forms. Enjoy and be inspired.
MY STORY
I love colors and abstracting things I see
My art story started when I was a young kid. My uncle was a famous artist in Dutch Indonesia and I marveled at his paintings that were stored in our attic. I could spend hours with them and be immersed in the tropical and adventurous stories they told. It took me a while to understand that I had the same passion and started painting lessons with my dear friend Ansel, a magic realist. She taught me the basics and the love you can have for creating something that makes other people smile. She discussed all various forms and styles of figurative and non-figurative art through oil and acrylics. I am so thankful for her gift to me. Now, I mainly focus on abstracts with acrylics. I love the way colors merge and the speed of the medium. Currently, I live in Lawrence, Kansas where to paint is a hobby that makes me happy every day.
